Affordable, Assisted Transportation for Older Adults (50+) and Persons with Mobility Challenges

Launched in March 2024, Crowsnest Cruisers is a service providing affordable, assisted transportation for older adults (50+) and persons with mobility challenges. This allows riders to attend medical and personal care appointments, shop, and attend social events.

Our Purpose

To provide safe, affordable transportation for local residents (50+) and those with mobility challenges, ensuring access to essential services.

About the Service

Crowsnest Cruisers will offer:

Local Rides within the Crowsnest area in a van with three seats plus a wheelchair.

Out-of-Town Trips to Pincher Creek and Lethbridge on a 13-passenger bus that accommodates 3 wheelchairs and has a ramp and winch.

Whether it’s a short trip across town or a journey to a nearby city, this service ensures that affordable, accessible transportation is available to those who need physical assistance.

Community Support

The project began with a dedicated group of community members concerned about the challenges seniors face with limited mobility options. Operated by the Peaks to Pines Residents Association, the service has received support from Healthy Aging Alberta, along with contributions from Northback, Blairmore Lions, the Crowsnest/Pincher Creek Landfill Association, Atlas LLP, Davis Dodge, RPM - Ritchie Parts & Mechanical, other community organizations and businesses, as well as individuals.

Our Mission

Crowsnest Cruisers aims to enhance physical and mental well-being of older adults and those with mobility challenges, helping them remain active, connected, and engaged. Safe, reliable, and affordable, this service reduces the risk of isolation and loneliness by providing access to essential destinations in vehicles designed for mobility support.

Our Vision

To foster a connected and supportive community where every senior and mobility-challenged resident can live independently, stay engaged, and enjoy a fulfilling life.

I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel with a friend to Lethbridge with Crowsnest Cruisers and found it most rewarding and stress-free! Not having to drive left me able to focus on my friend and give her my undivided attention. The driver took care of the loading and unloading of the passenger and that eased the physical aspects of transporting my friend, when using my vehicle. The ride was very comfortable for 2 passengers. The driver was very compassionate and kind, and a pleasure to travel with!
